Tawny at Odds Farm

Tawny at Odds Farm

Capercaille is eight and a half and has had a baby every year at the farm with no problems. However staff had to give a helping hand just at the end of her calving to help deliver ‘Tawny’ our new heifer calf. Tawny is extremely energetic and runs around the pen and is very happy to see everyone. She will be indoors for a week or so, then back out in the field with the rest of the herd. Tawny was born with reddish brown tinges on her ears and nose,  which are known as ‘red points’, rather than the usual black points. This colouring makes her different to all the other British White cattle we have and it is a normal British White colour but just not common.

Troy at Odds Farm

Two more British White Calves were born at Odds Farm Park on 27 November and 5 December.

Tank, born on 27 November, was given his name because he was so big and needed a little extra help from dedicated farm staff to help with his arrival into the world. Proud mum Callisto was born at Odds Farm Park in 2003.

Troy, born 5 December, arrived quietly in the night and was happily drinking from his mum when the farm staff arrived to check on her in the morning. Mum Twilight was born at Odds Farm Park in 2002.

We are keen to take one of the previous heifer calves up in the herd, so if you come and visit in future you can watch them grow up at Odds Farm and who knows, in a few years time you may even be lucky enough to see them have their own calves!

Santa’s Grotto at Odds

Santa, his Festive Grotto and Fantastic Toys are proving more popular than ever this year at Odds Farm Park. Over the first weekend, 30% more children visted Santa than last year and we are looking forward to even more visitors as we get closer to Christmas.

Said Neil Scott, Operations Director “We’ve had children coming in from many different areas, West London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, as well as Buckinghamshire. And everyone has given really positive feedback”.

Elsewhere at Odds Farm Park children can choose a Free Chocolate Treat off the Christmas tree and complete special Festive Puzzles in our Free Christmas Activity Booklet. Plus pet numerous of Furry Friends, pat rabbits and feed hungry sheep and goats.

Santa is at Odds Farm Park every weekend until the 21st of December, plus 22, 23, 24 December.
