Bagot Goat at Odsd Farm Park

The rarest breed of goat at Odds farm Park for children on days out to see are Bagot goats. With between 101 and 200 breeding nannies left, the Bagot Goat is classed as Endangered by the Rare Breed Survival Trust. And in fact, at Odds Farm Park’s kids farm families on days out will find the second largest registered herd in the country.

At this childrens farm, Bagot Goats are all part of an active breeding program and every year, Odds Farm Park actively pairs males and females to ensure their kids have healthy blood lines. Children on a day out can identify the Bagot Goat within the Kids farm by their striking appearance. Long haired, their heads and fore-quarters are black and the rest of them is white. In addition, they have curved horns that sweep backwards in a twist. They shouldn’t be missed on a day out with the kids.

In addition to goats, days out for children also include numerous rabbits, cows, donkeys, pigs, sheep, ponies and chickens. It’s a farmyard full of fun! And no visit is complete without a play in the Indoor Playbarn with the Bale Climb, Astra Slide and Ride-on Toys.

Guinea Pigs at Odds Farm Park

Children on a family day out on Saturday the 16 January were the first to meet two new baby smooth haired Guinea Pigs born within Odds Farm Park’s childrens farm that same day.

Parents, Moose (mum) and Parsley (dad) permanently live at this kids farm and both have had babies before. Children on an day out can see the twins in the Guinea Pig Village near the entrance of the Gift Shop. Guinea Pigs are born with hair and develop quickly. Their stomachs can start to eat adult food within a few days. Whilst Moose only had two babies on this occasion, an average Guinea Pig litter is 3 to 4 babies.

Alongside many cute baby animals at this kids farm, there’s also so much all weather fun. With daily animal demonstrations and undercover animal activities, an Indoor Playbarn with Astra Slide, Bale Climb, Ride-on Toys and Soft Play, as well as all the cute Furry Friends inside the large new Animal Barns, you are spoilt for choice.

Cute piglets at Odds Farm Park

Visitors on a day out at childrens farm Odds Farm Park were in for a special treat on Saturday 16 January. Thistle, our Tamworth sow, gave birth to eight cute piglets at kids farm Odds Farm Park. Thistle started to give birth to her piglets at 10.30am in the morning and by mid afternoon all eight babies were born at the childrens farm. Their dad is a Gloucestershire Old Spot called Arthur and he is the father of many piglets that have been born at the farm!  Thistle is also an Auntie to Tobasco’s litter, which were born at childrens farm Odds Farm Park recently, and can be seen in the pigsty next door. Families on a day out can watch the new arrivals in the pig sty next to the Tea Room at this kids farm.

Tamworth Piglets at Odds Farm Park

On Tuesday 5 January, Tamworth sow Tobassco gave birth to her first litter of cute piglets at childrens farm Odds Farm Park. The new family is already on show for those on a day out and can be seen in the pigsty next to the Tea Room.

Tobassco arrived at Odds Farm childrens farm in August 2008 with her sister Thistle and whilst this is her very first litter, she is making a very good mum. Dad Tucker has fathered plenty of healthy piglets previously at this kids farm and with him being a Tamworth too, it makes the babies all pure Tamworth.

In addition to seeing cute piggies, days out for children also include numerous rabbits, cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, ponies and chickens to meet. In fact it’s a day out packed with farmyard fun!

No visit is complete without a play in the indoor Playbarn at the centre of this kids farm, with a Bale Climb, an Astra Slide and Ride-on Toys.
