Thistle And Her Piglets

Thistle And Her Piglets

Visitors on a day out at children’s farm Odds Farm Park are in for a special treat as Thistle, a Tamworth sow has just given birth to her second litter of piglets this year.   Thistle’s piglets are not the only ones to have been born recently within the children’s farm as Thistle’s sister, Tobasco, gave birth on Monday 14 June.  Families on a visit to Odds Farm Park can currently see Thistle and her cheeky piglets in the new animal barns, whilst Tobasco and her new family can be seen outside in the pig paddocks.

In addition to cute pigs, days out for children also include numerous rabbits, cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, ponies and chickens. It’s a farmyard full of fun!  And with stacks of outdoor play, children on a summer day out will be spoilt for choice.

Archie and Millie at Odds Farm Park

Archie and Millie at Odds Farm Park

Archie, an orphaned Pygmy goat at family day out favourite Odds Farm Park has become best buddies with “Meet the Animals” star, Millie the Sheepdog.  Following Millie around like a little puppy, the pair have formed a very close bond and whilst Millie can’t replace his mother, Archie does enjoy nuzzling with her.

Black and white in colour, just like Millie, and standing at just 30cm high, Archie is currently being bottle fed by the Livestock Team.  It is hoped that he will eventually join the “Meet the Animals” Show alongside Millie so that children on a day out can meet him.

In addition to Pygmy goats, those on a family day out can also see rabbits, cows, donkeys, pigs, sheep, ponies and chickens. It’s a farmyard full of fun! And no visit is complete without a play in the indoor Playbarn with the Bale Climb, Astra Slide and Ride-on Toys.
